The Direct Air Capture plant in Iceland, where the geothermal conditions are ideal, is in operation and the construction of the new plant “Orca” is well under way. It will capture 4000 tons of CO₂ per year – making it the world’s biggest climate-positive facility to date!
Leading scientific studies indicate that by 2050, 10 billion tons of carbon dioxide will need to be removed from the air every year. Direct air capture is a concrete and effective solution that helps to achieve this goal. Combined with permanent storage, direct air capture is a form of carbon dioxide removal. Climework’s technology runs exclusively on green energy and the modular CO₂ collectors can be stacked to build machines of any size.
